In a move that can be seen as a logical extension of our existing portfolio, the research vessel department at Briese Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG ist responsible for the management of the mid-sized, German research/survey vessels ALKOR, HEINCKE, POSEIDON, MARIA S. MERIAN and ELISABETH MANN BORGESE. A dedicated and skilled team backs up the vessels, drawing on the company's resources to provide and enhance management services for this fascinating fleet. The fleet is rounded off by the addition of the research vessel RV METEOR in January 2013.
The department is additionally responsible for the crew management for the RB "POLARFUCHS" (GEOMAR, Kiel).
The Research Department cooperates closely with the following research institutes:
