Company History

The early 90s saw a phase of sustained fleet growth, accompanied by a drive to extend our portfolio of marine transport solutions and related logistics services. From an initial investment of around 12 m Euros in 1990, sustained growth has seen figures increase to some 160 m Euros today. The company has initiated 160 newbuildings and purchased über 100 pre-owned vessels. Sales of almost 140 sea going vessels in the same period have resulted in the present fleet of over 83 sea going vessels with an average age of just 5 years.

Project planning for an initial series of newbuildings to highest technical standards started in the late 80s. Even at this early stage, the company focused on the general cargo / multipurpose market. The project for this series also marked the start of a campaign towards sustained modernization of the sea going fleet. A drive for improved cost-effectiveness led to project planning for various series of vessels in Germany and abroad in the 90s. Initial projects in China date back to the mid 90s.
