The Oceanology International is the world’s largest exhibition for ocean technology and marine science. For more than 40 years this event has been serving the marine science and technology community and today is the most respected global forum in this area.
This year’s exhibition, taking place 09-11 March 2010, was the largest ever held, with pavilions from Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and a large number of individual exhibitors. More than 550 exhibitors from almost 30 countries gathered at London’s Exhibition Centre ExCel. About 7,000 people attended Oceanology International filling the conference halls and ensuring busy stands and aisles throughout the exhibition.
In addition to the major exhibition, the event featured a world-class technical conference showcasing the latest developments and thinking in the marine science and ocean technology world. Other highlights of the show included a range of waterfront vessels of various types and sizes moored alongside ExCel, the Oceanology International Careers Day and the Networking Evening on the opening day. The show was rounded off by the Oceanology International Brokerage Event, an event targeted at companies and research institutes looking for business partners, new contacts and cooperation.
For the first time Briese Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG (Research Department) took part in this international event. As part of the German Pavilion Briese Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG was able to present the company to an international public, to establish new contacts and expand already existing relationships with companies and research institutes. The exhibition can be regarded as a great success. Thanks to the members of staff who represented the company during the whole exhibition.
